Introduction

Circle Health strives to make facilities and medical services accessible, creating a welcoming and friendly environment for all. We work to provide the best possible accessibility services for all patients, visitors and staff of Lowell General Hospital and Circle Health outpatient locations. 

Lowell General Hospital is conveniently located near handicapped accessible public transportation and provides accessible parking and free valet services.

Public Transportation

The Lowell Regional Transit Authority (LRTA) buses drop off and pick up at the main entrance of our hospital campuses. LRTA schedules are available in the main lobby or by calling 978-452-6161.

Free Valet Parking

Complimentary valet parking is available for our patients at the main entrance on both hospital campuses, Monday through Friday. The Lowell General main campus hours of operation are 7:00am-7:00pm. The Lowell General Saints campus hours of operation are 8:00am-5:00pm.

Parking Garage & Parking Lots

We have ample free parking in our parking garage at Lowell General Hospital’s main campus that includes designated handicapped accessible parking spots. There are elevators in the garage to help with accessibility needs. We have four additional parking lots at the main campus, including for the Cancer Center, Emergency Department, Medical Office Building and Hanchett Building that include designated handicapped accessible spots for our patients.

Entrances

All buildings at Lowell General Hospital’s main campus are connected, and all share the same address of 295 Varnum Avenue with the exception of the Medical Office Building which is at 275 Varnum Avenue. There are information desks available at each entrance of the hospital that can provide you with directions to get you to your destination:

  • Dahod Building Entrance (main entrance when you first pull in)
  • Emergency Department Entrance (left of Dahod Building)
  • Conference Center Entrance (left of the Emergency Department)

Special Assistance/Patient Relations

At Circle Health and Lowell General Hospital we provide special assistance for any services or requests, such as getting out of a car or into a wheelchair. Our ambassadors are fully trained and equipped to help you. As you approach the Dahod Building, these staff members are easily identifiable by jackets or badges.

Voicemail messages left for Patient Relations during off-hours, weekends and holiday will be responded to on the next business day.

Interpreter Services

Interpreter Services are available to all patients free of charge 24 hours a day. Interpreters facilitate communication for better understanding between patients and providers as well as clarify when cultural differences arise. In-house interpreters for Spanish, Khmer and Portuguese are available Monday through Friday from 8:00am-4:30pm. Per Diem interpreters for the following languages are available by appointment:

French Mandarin
Greek Portuguese
Gujarati Spanish
Hindi Vietnamese

Dual hand-set phones are located on each patient unit for Telephone Interpreter Service. Agency interpreters for other languages may be booked with advanced notice. If your preferred language is not English, please call Interpreter Services for assistance:

TTY/TD Machines

At the Lowell General main campus, TTY/TDD machines are available in the Telecommunications Office on the first floor of the Mansfield Building. At the Lowell General Saints campus, TTY/TDD machines are located in the Emergency Department.
