Merrimack Valley Hospice Adds Holiday Support To Free Virtual Grief Support Groups

October 9, 2020

Lawrence, Mass. – While the holiday season is a time of joy for many, it can cause great struggle for those who are grieving. Recognizing that a sense of community, shared experiences and connection are especially important this time of year, Merrimack Valley Hospice has added support to cope with the holidays to its offerings of free grief support groups.

Since in-person meetings are not possible during the COVID-19 crisis, the online sessions are offered via Zoom video conference. Groups are offered biweekly, with each session led by a facilitator from Merrimack Valley Hospice’s licensed, credentialed bereavement staff.

The new Coping with the Holidays group meets Thursday, Nov. 12, 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.; Monday, Nov. 16, 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.; Tuesday, Dec. 8, 12:00 to 1:00 p.m.; and Thursday, Dec. 17, 7:00 to 8:00 p.m. Groups addressing general loss take place on Wednesdays, 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. and Thursdays, 5:00 to 6:00 p.m. Sessions for those grieving the loss of a spouse or partner are held on Tuesdays, 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. and Wednesdays, 6:00 to 7:30 p.m.

All groups are free of charge and open to the public. To register, call 978.552.4510. To learn more, visit Hospice Care.
