The MIRI was very well represented at the annual Perinatal Research Society Annual Meeting Utah from September 29-October 1, in the beautiful setting of Park City.
Taysir Mahmoud holds the newly created position of Supervisor of Clinical and Translational Research in MIRI, OB/Gyn and Pediatrics to accomplish that task.
In order to further strengthen the connection between the MIRI and investigators involved in complementary work across Tufts Medicine and Tufts University, MIRI created the role of "Associate PI."
Michael House, MD, has been recognized as an expert in the uterine cervix, has received an SMFM/ABOG Bridge Grant entitled “Novel tools for studying cervical function and dysfunction during pregnancy.”
Dr. Patrick Catalano, who has expertise in lifestyle interventions to reduce gestational weight gain among women with overweight or obesity, was an author in the paper “A telehealth lifestyle intervention to reduce excess gestational weight gain in pregnant women with overweight or obesity (GLOW): a randomised, parallel-group, controlled.”
Dr. Elizabeth Yen, a neonatologist at Tufts Medical Center, has joined as PI. Dr. Yen’s lab conducts non-invasive salivary transcriptomic and brain magnetic imaging studies to understand the impact of the prenatal opioid exposure on the developing brain.
