MelroseWakefield Healthcare today announced that Pamela Whelton, former President of South Shore Hospital, will assume the role of interim Chief Executive Officer effective June 14. She will replace Sue Sandberg who is moving to Colorado to be with family.

She will also assume the role of Chair of the Department of Medicine at Tufts University School of Medicine, both effective February 1.

Tufts Medical Center announced today that Rachel J. Buchsbaum, MD, has been named Director of the Cancer Center, effective August 12, 2019. Dr. Buchsbaum, a nationally-recognized physician, researcher, educator and leader in breast cancer therapy, risk assessment and prevention, will steer the cancer programs at Tufts MC.

The Rewards and Recognition Council votes for the year’s Cupola Award recipients based on the nominees’ abilities to meet the hospital’s Standards of Performance and the dimensions of Completed connected care through personal stories or specific actions shared by the nominees’ team.

MelroseWakefield Healthcare named the first recipients of the inaugural Alan Macdonald Leadership Award. Scholarships were awarded to five employees to support the development of their leadership skills.
