Lowell General Hospital CEO Announces Retirement

Lowell General Hospital Chief Executive Officer Joseph “Jody” White announced today that he will retire in September 2023 after more than two decades of leadership at the Lowell, Massachusetts-based hospital. White first joined Lowell General Hospital as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in 2003. He was later named President of Lowell General in 2013 and Chief Executive Officer of Circle Health and Lowell General in 2017. In anticipation of very cold temperatures beginning Friday, February 3, into Saturday, February 4, a Warming Center for all individuals will be available at the Lowell Senior Center, 276 Broadway Street. The Panas Training community room at the Dracut Police Department, 100 Loon Hill Road, will also be available as a Warming Station should anyone lose power and/or heat. The most pressing health issues across Greater Lowell include mental health, chronic health and wellness, and substance use, according to the 2022 Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA). The CHNA report was introduced at the Greater Lowell Health Alliance (GLHA) at its annual meeting on Friday, November 4 at Greater Lowell Technical High School, where 2022/23 grant recipients were also announced.
